I moved to Los Angeles at the end of 2019 for many reasons but if I’m honest, one of the most magnetic forces pulling me west was Kate Shela’s Saturday class.
It was a rite of passage, a weekly ceremony, a place where I could remember who I was beneath the noise. Every Saturday, I would step into that space carrying the weight of the world and leave feeling deeply alive, powerfully affirmed, and in communion with something far greater than myself. Kate awakened the part of me that remembers how to pray with my feet and grieve through my hips.
